Zafron Road Project - What is it?
Zafron Road Project (ZRP) is a unique collaboration of contemporary western art music and jazz musicians with traditional and classical Persian musicians Expanding musical frontiers is the aim through the cross-genre experience and the eclectic personal and professional backgrounds of its members. Persian and Turkish music, Jazz and 21st Century compositional techniques, Flamenco and Classical guitar sounds come together in a gentle clash of high-level music-making. Drawing on the professionalism and devotion of its members who come from many walks of life and musical interest, the ensemble presents new music by composer/guitarist Michael Knopf and ensemble members. The result is a unique blending of genre and style which is exotic, yet familiar.
ZRP presents intimate concerts where the audience is drawn into engaging new music using Persian traditional instruments, cello, pianobass and drums and guitars and exotic percussion. For booking enquiries phone 0431 025 958 or email michaeldknopf@gmai.com
